Free school physicals, immunizations available

Hillsborough County Public Schools and the Back-to-School Coalition of Hillsborough County are offering free physicals and immunizations today, July 26, Aug. 9 and Aug. 16 to any child entering a Florida school for the first time in kindergarten through 12th grade.
A parent or legal guardian must accompany children at all times, and immunization records are required.

Events will be held:

♦  8 a.m. to 11 a.m. July 26, Tampa General Hospital at Healthpark, 5802 N. 30th St., Tampa; walk-ins only
♦  9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 9, Ed and Myrtle Lou Swindle Medical Arts Center, 1601 W. Timberland Drive, Plant city; appointment req.; call (813) 443-3048
♦  9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 16, Eisenhower Middle School, 7620 Old Big Bend Road, Gibsonton; walk-ins only
♦ 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 16, Blake High School, Project LINK/St. Joseph’s Hospital, 1701 N. Boulevard, Tampa; appointment req.; call (813) 443-3048
♦ 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 16, Webb Middle School, 6035 Hanley Road, Tampa; walk-ins only

For most of us, getting medical treatment is no problem. Unfortunately, many of our Brandon neighbors are not eligible for public health assistance but cannot afford to pay for even the most basic medical care. read more »
